Davidson Oil

This project transformed a 15,000-square-foot warehouse from the 1910s into a contemporary office space, blending modern functionality with historic character. The design aimed to create an updated workspace that highlights the original masonry and wood elements, preserving the building’s unique architectural charm. Key historic features were thoughtfully re-incorporated into the new layout, creating a dynamic space that respects the past while meeting present-day needs. The office now accommodates a tri-brand fuel company, including Davidson Oil, a fuel supplier; Wilborn, specializing in pump supply, service, and fuel construction; and Flying State Transport, a multi-state fuel hauling company.

Project Name: Davidson Oil Corporate Office
Renovated Building Area (GSF): 14,762 SQ FT (1st: 8,184 SQ FT, 2nd: 6,578 SQ FT)
Structure: Existing masonry and wood
Major Materials and Systems: Reuse of salvaged wood from warehouse shelving, railroad ties as the structure for a custom stair, metal/fire doors as conference tables, existing exterior windows repurposed on the interior, steel components provided by Wilborn, and tin vents repurposed as light fixtures. As well as the introduction of maple, glass, metal, drywall, & tile.
Site Features: The office is located adjacent to the BNSF Railway which provides historic context for the site. The site was dramatically modified to include the addition of a landscaped front porch area under a new custom metal awning, new staff/visitor entry and window openings on the northern façade, and new parking areas and with integrated site greenery.
